Oyvind Kommedal

Oyvind is an internationally-recognized microbiologist whose unique insights about the intersection of medicine, technology, and business have guided Pathogenomix's vision and product development. Oyvind is a co-founder of Pathogenomix and one of the key inventors of Ripseq. He is a specialist in diagnostic microbiology with more than 20 years of experience in routine diagnostics and research. He has been pioneering 16S deep sequencing in clinical microbiology using the RipSeq NGS software and have been leading a number of projects characterizing and providing new insights into infections like brain abscesses, pleural empyema and various abdominal infections. He has authored and co-authored more than 30 scientific publications.
