Lalana Taylor, M.S. has a diverse work experience, beginning in 2008 when they worked as an Operating Room Set-Up Technician at Inova Health System. In 2010, they became a United States Secret Service Forensic Intern at the US Department of Homeland Security, followed by a Forensic Specialist Intern at the State of Maryland's Office of the Public Defender in 2012. Later that year, they took on a Research Technician PRN role at PAREXEL. In 2013, they were a Latent Print/Case Inventory Technician at AMERICAN SYSTEMS. From 2014 to 2022, they worked as a Forensic Scientist I and II, DNA Analyst at the Armed Forces DNA Identification Laboratory. Most recently, they have been a Scientist/Study Director at PathoQuest, utilizing their molecular-biology skills and experience to execute NGS-based workflows to meet customer needs for biologics QC testing. Lalana has also drafted and revised SOPs, maintained laboratory records and other documentation, and performed validation testing on custom NGS workflows for accuracy, consistency and timeliness in accordance with SOPs and regulations (cGMP/GLP).

Lalana Taylor, M.S. completed their Masters of Science in Forensic Science at Towson University from 2011 to 2013. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelors of Science in Forensic Science from Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) from 2006 to 2010.
