Nijsje Dorman has a diverse work experience in the field of research and editorial management. Nijsje currently holds the position of Director in the Office of the Deputy Executive Director for Patient-Centered Research Programs at the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) since November 2022. Prior to this, they worked as the Managing Editor at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine from January 2017 to November 2022. Before that, they served as the Managing Editor at Tufts Medical Center from 2006 to December 2016. Nijsje also worked as an Associate Editor at T & F Informa from 2003 to 2006. Nijsje began their career as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Harvard Medical School from October 2000 to December 2002.

Nijsje Dorman began their education by attending Indiana University Bloomington from 1992 to 1996. During this time, they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Comparative Literature.
