fter graduating from DePauw University where he was an all-conference member of the men’s basketball team, Austin began his professional career on Wall Street as an analyst at J.P. Morgan Securities in the Tax-Exempt Capital Markets Group, focusing specifically on municipal clients in Florida and Puerto Rico. Austin then went on to earn his J.D. from Washington & Lee University, School of Law and spent time at the New York based law firm, Davis Polk & Wardwell, working in both the Mergers & Acquisitions and Investment Management groups. Austin currently serves as Co-Head of the Basketball Division at Creative Artists Agency (CAA), representing some of the world’s top talent in professional basketball. Since joining CAA in 2013, Austin has helped lead a team that has negotiated more than $2.17 billion in free agent deals for its clients. Additionally, Austin was featured in Forbes’ “30 Under 30: The Sports World’s Brightest Young Stars” list in 2015 and Forbes’ “World’s Most Powerful Sports Agents” list in 2019. Austin is also a recipient of the Sports Business Journal’s prestigious “Forty Under 40” award, honoring the top sports business executives in their respective fields.
