Michael Tyler has a diverse work experience in the real estate industry spanning over several years. Michael is currently serving as the Managing Director and Head of Asset Management, UK, Ireland, and Nordics at PATRIZIA Immobilien AG since July 2018. Prior to this, they worked at Patrizia UK Ltd from June 2015 to August 2018 as the Director of Asset Management.
From November 2009 to February 2013, Michael was the Head of Asset Management at London and Stamford Property plc. Here, they were responsible for the asset management strategy and investment performance of a mixed property portfolio worth £1bn, including retail parks and a 50% share in Meadowhall Shopping Centre.
Before that, they served as the Asset Management Director at Kandahar Group from October 2005 to October 2009. In this role, they had the principal responsibility for asset and development management and investment performance of a £570m property portfolio, which included shopping centers and high street retail units.
From August 2000 to October 2005, Michael worked at Pillar Property plc as the Retail Development and Asset Manager. Their responsibilities included active development and asset management of nine retail parks, with a focus on town planning, redevelopment, and maximizing value.
Prior to that, they held the position of Property Development Director at Heartland Properties (subsidiary of AECI) from September 1994 to June 2000. Here, they were involved in development planning and land development for one of South Africa's largest landowners as well as township development for office, retail, and industrial developers.
Michael started their career as a Graduate Surveyor at Herring Son & Daw in September 1988, where they worked until February 1991.
Overall, Michael Tyler has extensive experience in asset management, development planning, and investment performance across various real estate companies in both the UK and South Africa.
Michael Tyler attended Glenalmond College from 1979 to 1984. Michael did not obtain a degree or specialize in any field during their time there. Following this, they enrolled at Nottingham Trent University from 1984 to 1988. At Nottingham Trent University, Michael studied Urban Estate Surveying and earned a Bachelor of Science (Hons) degree.
