Stephen Stites has extensive experience in the tax field, starting with their role as 2VP Tax at Travelers from October 2000 to May 2004. Stephen then worked as a Tax Director at Northeast Utilities from May 2004 to June 2007. Stephen then joined Aetna as an Executive Director, Tax from June 2007 until their recent move to Pattern Energy Group. At Aetna, they held their position for over 15 years. Stephen later joined AVANGRID as Vice President Tax in May 2017 and continued in this role until September 2022 when they transitioned to their current position at Pattern Energy Group.
Stephen Stites attended the University of Florida - Fisher School of Accounting from 1985 to 1986, where they obtained a Master of Accounting (MAcc) degree with a specialization in Taxation. Prior to that, from 1981 to 1985, they studied at The Wharton School, earning a Bachelor of Science in Engineering (BSE) degree in Accounting/Decision Sciences.
Additionally, Stephen Stites obtained the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification from the CT State Board of Accountancy in January 1993.
