Jorge Lozano

Jorge Lozano long knew that intellectual property law was the career for him, particularly given his innate curiosity and inventor’s mindset. A chemical engineer with experience in the field, he now focuses on patent preparation and prosecution, and trademark and brand protection.

Jorge is intrigued by the rapid acceleration of computer-based innovations, particularly in areas like process controls and new mechanical inventions. He advises clients on innovations related to oil and gas, the chemical industry, communications technologies, complex software and IT, and electronics and semiconductor technologies.

After receiving his undergraduate degree from Texas A&M University, Jorge worked as a full-time engineer, designing chemical processes, sizing equipment, identifying infrastructure bottlenecks, and managing product storage solutions for offshore and onshore oil production and chemical plants. With years of experience under his belt, Jorge enrolled as a part-time law student, pursuing his J.D. on lunch breaks and after work, all while starting his family.

Jorge’s extensive hands-on experience in the oil and gas industry, as well as his familiarity working with the United States Patent and Trademark Office, have primed him to excel in patent law. Jorge’s unique background and thorough appreciation of evolving technologies deepen his understanding of product origination — a perspective his clients value when trusting him with their inventions.
