Payton Hashemi is a proficient attorney with nearly 10 years of experience practicing intellectual property law. He works to protect his client’s IP by preparing and prosecuting utility and design patents in the fields of artificial intelligence, machine learning, communications technologies, electronics, semiconductor technologies, medical devices, oil and gas services, and transportation.

For Payton, a passionate inventor’s energy and excitement is contagious. This enthusiasm drives him to excel at what he does best: preparing and prosecuting patents involving front-end circuitry, telecommunications, power conversation, amplification systems, circuit design, semiconductors and more.

Payton began his IP career at Patterson + Sheridan. As an associate attorney at the firm, he spent 8 years preparing and prosecuting domestic and foreign patent applications with an emphasis on electrical systems. In addition to preparing and prosecuting patent applications, Payton has counseled clients in infringement matters, negotiations, and strategies for patent infringement dispute resolution.

Before practicing law, Payton was an electrical engineer for nearly 8 years, designing data acquisition, control and power electronic devices. He worked on the production and development of implantable pacemakers and defibrillators, as well as low-power sensing and voltage conversion circuitry for implantable medical devices. His industry experience also includes working on the production and development of Lockheed Martin’s C-130J Super Hercules aircraft.
