Zack Klein

Zack Klein became a patent attorney because he enjoys supporting inventors and encouraging their entrepreneurial nature. As an associate at Patterson + Sheridan, where he prepares and prosecutes patent applications involving electronics and semiconductor technologies, Zack gets a front-row seat to the invention process as he helps protect the next generation of innovative technology.

Zack’s unique background gives him a better understanding of the emerging technologies his clients design and develop. He began his professional career as an electrical engineer repairing, assembling and configuring servers, PCs and programmable logic controller (PLC) systems. He then worked for the United States Naval Air Systems Command analyzing schematics in Navy technologies and systems. During his tenure, he designed and implemented instrumentation systems that secure aircrafts when landing on the short runways of naval vessels.

Working for the Navy taught Zack to be meticulous. The decisions he made had real-life consequences out in the field. Now he applies that same mindset to every inventor he counsels. He strives to understand how his clients’ inventions are intended to work, and what they hope to achieve, to craft a strong and thorough legal strategy.
