Axel Riemann started their career in 1994 with an internship in strategy consulting at Roland Berger Strategy Consultants. Axel followed this with another internship in strategy consulting at The Boston Consulting Group in 1995. In 1996, they had an internship in the logistics department at BMW. After that, they joined Procter & Gamble in 1997 as a Financial Analyst in Pharmaceuticals Germany, and then moved on to roles such as Financial Analysis Manager and Category Finance Manager. In 2002, they became a Group Manager in Corporate Finance, leading quarterly profit proofs and improving accounting policy compliance. Axel continued to progress within Procter & Gamble, taking on roles such as Group Manager Financial Analysis & Planning Family Care Western Europe and Commercial Finance Director Eastern Europe. From 2014 to 2015, they worked as a Business Consultant & Business Angel, investing in start-up companies and providing consulting and knowledge transfer in finance, marketing, production, and product development. In 2015, they joined the HARTMANN GROUP as the Senior Vice President Controlling.

Axel Riemann obtained their Master's degree in Industrial Engineering from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) in the years 1991 to 1997. Additionally, they pursued studies in Industrial Engineering & Economics at the University of Massachusetts Amherst from 1994 to 1995.
