Ahmed Taleb possesses extensive experience in IT support and operations, currently serving as Operations Support Officer and User Support Specialist at Pawsey Supercomputing Centre since January 2015. Key responsibilities include managing mail systems, supporting web servers, handling document management systems, and overseeing virtual machine environments. Previous roles include Technical Services Officer at iVEC, where Ahmed managed data-related support, server maintenance, and virtual machine migrations, as well as Service Desk Analyst at CSIRO, providing support for Microsoft Windows servers and workstations. Additionally, Ahmed has experience in IT support at the Australian Islamic College, managing extensive IT infrastructure across multiple campuses. Ahmed holds a Certificate III in Information Technology from South East Metropolitan College of TAFE.
Pawsey Supercomputing Research Centre
The Pawsey Supercomputing Research Centre is encouraging and energising research using supercomputing, large scale data storage and visualisation in Western Australia. We provide facilities and expertise to the research, education and industrial communities. Application areas include nanotechnology, radio astronomy, high energy physics, medical research, mining and petroleum, architecture and construction, multimedia, and urban planning, amongst others. The Pawsey Supercomputing Research Centre is an unincorporated joint venture between CSIRO, Curtin University, Edith Cowan University, Murdoch University and The University of Western Australia and is supported by the Western Australian and Federal Governments.
