Omar Ahmad

Omar Ahmad has a strong background in auditing and finance, with extensive experience in various leadership roles. Omar currently holds the position of Vice President Internal Audit at Paycor, where they joined in 2021 to establish the internal audit department and prepare the company for a potential IPO, which was successfully completed. Additionally, Omar is a Member of the Board of Directors at AKRU, a startup focused on fractionalized real estate investing.

Prior to their current roles, Omar served as the Vice President of Integration at Hillenbrand, a global diversified industrial company. In this role, they led a cross-functional integration team following the acquisition of Milacron. Before Hillenbrand, they were the Chief Audit Officer at Milacron, where they played a crucial role in setting up the Internal Audit department and guiding the company through a successful IPO.

Omar's extensive experience in the audit field includes their time at The AES Corporation, where they served as the Managing Director of Internal Audit. Omar was responsible for overseeing a team of 28 and executing audits across multiple regions. Omar also played a key role in implementing audit software and quality assurance programs, as well as conducting anti-fraud risk assessments. Prior to their role at The AES Corporation, Omar held various positions at KPMG, where they focused on auditing the banking and financial sector.

In addition to their professional experience, Omar has also served as a member of the board of directors and special vice chair at the Southwest Ohio Region Workforce Investment Board.

Omar Ahmad completed a Finance Leadership Course at the University of Virginia Darden School of Business in 2007. Prior to that, they obtained a BA in Economics and Statistics from The University of Punjab in 1991. Omar also attended Islamabad Model School from 1985 to 1987, where they studied Economics, Statistics, and Mathematics at the high school level. In terms of certifications, Omar obtained the Certification in Risk Management Assurance (CRMA) from The Institute of Internal Auditors Inc. in 2013, the Accreditation in Internal Quality Assessment in 2008, and became a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) in December 2005. Additionally, they received the Public Finance Accountant certification from the Pakistan Institute of Public Finance Accountants in 2003.
