Su Young Chun has a long and varied work experience. In 2003, they were a Summer Student at Justice for Children and Youth. The following year, they were a Summer Student at Borden Ladner Gervais LLP. In 2005, they were an Articling Student at Roy Elliott Kim O'Connor LLP. From 2006 to 2011, they were a Senior Compliance Analyst and Legal Analyst at The Dominion of Canada General Insurance Company. During this time, they managed a Legislative Compliance Management Project, led a Records Retention Project, developed and conducted privacy training, and created numerous corporate policies and protocols. From 2011 to 2014, they were Legal Counsel & Chief Compliance Officer at OANDA, where they managed the compliance program for Canadian and United States divisions, reviewed and negotiated contracts, oversaw Know Your Customer and Anti-Money Laundering compliance, and more. From 2014 to 2019, they were Director, Legal & Regulatory Compliance and Senior Legal Counsel, Regulatory Compliance at TMX Group. In 2019, they were Associate Director, Compliance at Mastercard Foundation. Currently, they are Chief Compliance Officer & Head of Customer Support and Chief Legal Officer & Chief Compliance Officer at Payfare Inc.
Su Young Chun's education history includes a Juris Doctor from the University of Toronto in 2005, a Chartered Insurance Professional from the Insurance Institute of Canada in 2010, and a major in Biological Sciences with a minor in Psychology from the University of Alberta in 2002. In 2011, Su Young Chun also completed a Chief Compliance Officers Qualifying Examination and a Partners, Directors and Senior Officers Course from CSI Global Education Inc.
