Dan Murphy

Dan Murphy is an experienced professional in the energy access sector, currently serving as the Managing Director of Catalyst Energy Advisors since August 2016, where the focus is on addressing the global energy access deficit. In addition, Dan co-founded and directs PAYGo Lab, which innovates credit management solutions in the off-grid solar industry, and has been the Managing Director of VentureBuilder since October 2019, supporting early-stage African solar enterprises. Prior roles include Co-Founder and CEO of Sage Systems, which established Côte d'Ivoire's first PAYGo solar offering, and Senior Energy Specialist at the World Bank, where Dan led significant programs to enhance off-grid energy access across multiple African nations. Dan holds a Master of Arts in International Relations and Economics from Johns Hopkins SAIS and a Bachelor of Arts from Bates College.
