Tarek Ghobar

Tarek Ghobar has worked in a variety of roles in the tech industry since 2008. In 2008, they were a Faculty Program Assistant at TU Delft and a Business Development Intern at Sendori. Tarek then co-founded IcySolutions B.V. in 2008, and was the Managing Director, bringing the tech startup from $0 to six figure annual revenue with a double digit growth in less than 3 years. In 2011, they co-founded and was a shareholder of LeQuest, a company specialized in interactive online training tools. In 2013, they founded and organized FailCon NL, the startup failure conference. In 2014, they were the Head of Sales Middle East for hellofood and in 2015 they were the Managing Director for hellofood KSA. In 2016, they were the Startup Manager for 1776, and in 2018 they were the Regional Director for Union. Since 2019, they have been the Co-Founder of paymennt.com, on a mission to give Micro and Small businesses access to online payment quickly, securely, without breaking their bank, and without the headaches of the current processes.

Tarek Ghobar completed a BSc in Aerospace Engineering from Delft University of Technology between 2004 and 2007. Prior to this, they completed a BSc in Avionics Engineering from the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT) between 2001 and 2004. Before that, they completed an International Baccalaureate from UWC Red Cross Nordic between 1999 and 2001.
