Denise Neethling

Denise Neethling has a diverse work history spanning various industries. Denise is currently the Head of Marketing at Paymenow Group since August 2022. Prior to this, they worked as a Growth Manager at Two Three Bird from April to August 2022. From March 2020 to April 2022, Denise held the position of Head of Communications, Brand PR, and CSI Projects at Hungry Lion.

Before joining Hungry Lion, Denise worked at LekkeSlaap.co.za from December 2012 to February 2020 as the Head of Marketing, Communications, PR, and Content Creation. In this role, they were responsible for marketing campaigns, acting as a brand ambassador, and handling public communications.

Denise also has experience in radio, working as a Radio DJ at Bok Radio (98.9FM) in December 2012. Prior to that, they were a PR Account Manager at Armstrong PR & Digital from May 2011 to December 2012, where they wrote media releases, managed promotional campaigns, and developed communication strategies.

Denise's career began in 2009 when they worked as a Public Relations Account Executive at Marcus Brewster Publicity. Denise developed PR strategies, wrote press material, and managed client accounts. Denise also worked as a Master of Ceremonies at the Emerald Cup Horse Racing Event in September 2010, where they interacted with the crowd and organized event agendas.

In terms of their education, Denise worked as a Media Studies Tutor at the University of Cape Town from June to November 2009. Prior to that, they gained experience as a Journalist and Fashion Correspondent at Campus-Beeld, a division of Netwerk24, from July 2006 to September 2008. In this role, they conducted interviews, wrote lifestyle and fashion articles, and researched content.

Denise Neethling earned a Bachelor's degree in Journalism from the University of Pretoria/Universiteit van Pretoria between 2006 and 2008. Denise also received an Honors Degree in Media Studies and Specialised Writing from the University of Cape Town in 2009. Prior to their higher education, Denise completed their Grade 12/Senior Certificate from Hoërskool Eldoraigne.
