Shaun Chong

Shaun Chong has been in the software development industry since 2007. Shaun began their career at BriteSoft Solutions as an Application Developer, Technical Consultant, and Programmer. In 2008, they joined Over 3 Hours / Better Digital Solutions as a Software Engineer, where they developed an e-commerce website with custom payment gateway integration, maintained a community portal on Joomla, and rolled out and maintained a highly scalable banner ad serving platform. In 2009, they became a Technical Development Manager at Surespeed Technology, managing a team of developers and programming mainly in .NET (C#) to deliver enterprise level ERP, CRM, and high traffic websites. In 2011, they joined Sweetmag as a Web Developer, building corporate and eCommerce websites running on WordPress and Magento. From 2014 to 2018, they worked at True Agency Pty Ltd as a Web Developer, developing fully responsive, highly customisable WordPress and WooCommerce websites. In 2018, they joined Catapult Sports as a Senior Web Developer, taking ownership of the company's flagship analytics platform and continuing to build, refactor, re-organise and maintain the overall health of the codebase. Finally, in 2019, they joined Payright as Lead Developer and Senior Web Developer, where they improved the developer experience (DX) and efficiency of the team by introducing CI/CD tools, documentation, agile delivery, Infrastructure as Code, trunk based development, and test driven development. Shaun also interviewed, hired, built and cultivated a long term team that aligned with the company's goals and vision.

Shaun Chong completed a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) in Computer Science from RMIT University in 2007, and a Foundation degree in Information Technology from Kolej Universiti Taylor's in 2003.
