Liz Castillo is an experienced educational technologist currently serving at Punahou School since August 2013 and is also a member of the PBLWorks National Faculty since August 2019, where responsibilities include facilitating professional development for teachers in Project Based Learning. Prior experience includes a role as Senior Instructional Technology Specialist at Kamehameha Schools from July 2012 to July 2013 and a tenure as a 7th Grade Science Teacher at Kamehameha Schools Kapalama Campus from August 2002 to 2012. Liz Castillo holds a Master’s degree in Educational/Instructional Media from Wilkes University, a Master’s degree in Secondary Education and Teaching from the University of Hawaii at Manoa, and a Bachelor’s degree in Zoology/Animal Biology from the University of Hawaii at Manoa.

Through PBL, students engage in learning that is deep, long-lasting, and relevant to the challenges of their lives and the world they will inherit. Research confirms this. Our services, tools, and research are designed to build the capacity of K-12 teachers to design and facilitate quality Project Based Learning, and the capacity of school leaders to create a culture for teachers to implement great projects with all students. We are current and former educators with experience in PBL and deep respect for teachers. We strive to offer an unrivaled level of service to guide educators in their journey toward a sustained, high-quality PBL practice.
