Sonia Portwood

Sonia Portwood has a diverse work experience spanning over three decades. Sonia has held various leadership roles in different companies and industries.

In 1985, Sonia started their career as a Branch Manager and Retail Lender at Deposit Guaranty National Bank, where they quickly rose through the ranks. Sonia was recognized for their leadership skills and was responsible for implementing innovative banking practices.

Sonia then joined Deposit Guaranty Investments in 1993 as a Vice President and Financial Advisor. Over the course of three years, they provided financial advice to clients and managed their investments.

Sonia transitioned to Bank of America in 1997, where they were promoted to Manager of Trade Support in the Global Capital Markets Division. Sonia led a team and focused on automating operational systems and improving efficiencies.

In 1998, Sonia joined BISYS Fund Services as Project Manager and Consultant. Sonia managed a team of sales professionals and served as Lead Project Manager on multiple IT conversions. Sonia also played a key role in restructuring call centers.

From 2000 to 2002, Sonia worked at Financial Oxygen, a FinTech start-up, as VP of National Sales and Product Development. Sonia was responsible for strategic planning, sales, marketing, and client relations.

In 2002, they joined Kensington Investment Group as VP of National Key Accounts Manager. Sonia successfully marketed mutual funds to financial advisors and consistently exceeded sales targets.

Sonia made a transition to Pacific Coast Bankers' Bank in 2008 as EVP of Business Development and Strategic Execution. Sonia played a key role in driving the growth and success of the company.

In the same year, they also joined PCBB as Chief Sales and Marketing Officer. Sonia was responsible for leading and managing the sales and marketing functions, enhancing brand awareness, and accelerating revenue.
