During this period (August 2014 to June 2019), they conducted research on finding mechanisms to decrease antimicrobial/antibiotic consumption by inhibiting drug efflux from bacterial cells. Yusuf Talha designed and conducted evolution experiments, developed pipelines to analyze and visualize big data, and utilized parallel computing and high-performance computing to decrease analysis time.

In addition, Yusuf was actively involved in various leadership roles such as being the Chair of the Turkish Student Association and a member of the Students Emerging Academy of Leaders during their time at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas.

Prior to their PhD, Yusuf worked at Sabanci University as a Master of Science candidate from September 2012 to June 2014. Yusuf Talha'sresearch focused on understanding resistance mechanisms to beta-lactam class antibiotics using forward evolution experiments and whole genome sequencing technology. During their time at Sabanci University, they also served as a Teaching Assistant.

Yusuf also gained research experience as a Volunteer Researcher at Bilkent University National Nanotechnology Research Center from October 2010 to May 2012. Yusuf Talha provided scientific consulting to a glass production company, including developing a microbial/plant-based system to degrade surfactants/detergents used in their facilities.

Furthermore, Yusuf gained valuable experience as a Summer Intern at MD Anderson Cancer Center in July 2011, where they contributed to research projects.

Overall, Yusuf Talha Tamer, PhD has a strong background in research, data analysis, and leadership roles, making significant contributions to their various projects and organizations.
