Alaa Zubaidi

Alaa Zubaidi has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries. In 1994, they worked as a Project Supervisor in a self-employed capacity. Alaa then joined Al Jaleel Computer Center as an AutoCAD Drafting Consultant from 1994 to 1996. From 1996 to 1998, they worked as a Mechanical Engineer at Besher Pneumatic and Hydraulic Systems. In 2001, they joined IDS Software Systems as a Software Engineer, where they were involved in database loaders, tools, utilities, and performed basic database administration. Their role at IDS Software Systems lasted until 2003. From 2003 to 2014, Alaa served as a Sr. Software Engineer at PDF Solutions, where they designed, implemented, and tested various back-end tools and distributed systems using Cassandra, Oracle, and Informix databases. From 2014 to their most recent position, Alaa held the role of Manager and later Sr Director of Infrastructure and Cloud solutions at PDF Solutions. In this position, they were responsible for designing and architecting BigData solutions and introducing Apache Spark to replace legacy systems.

Alaa Zubaidi holds a Master's degree in Software Engineering from National University, which they obtained from 1999 to 2001. Prior to this, they completed their Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Damascus University between 1991 and 1997. Alaa also has additional certifications, including a Certified Administrator on Apache Cassandra from O'Reilly Media, and a DataStax Apache Cassandra™ Professional Certification from DataStax.
