Matthew Bohnsack

Matthew Bohnsack has diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Matthew started their career as a Dishwasher at Valentino's Restaurant, eventually working their way up to Assistant Manager. Matthew then worked as a Newspaper Delivery person for The Des Moines Register.

In 1997, they joined Engineering Animation, Inc. as a Network Engineer, Web Developer, and Software Engineer. Matthew later became the Internet Products Manager and Senior Software Engineer, leading the development of e-Vis.com, a secure solution for Internet-enabled visual collaboration.

Matthew then joined International Business Machines as a Linux Cluster Architect, where they designed and implemented Linux solutions with an emphasis on clusters for high-performance and high-availability computing.

Matthew worked at Sandia National Laboratories as a Sr. Systems Engineer, leading a team in designing and implementing the Red Sky supercomputer.

Matthew then served as the VP of Development & Implementations at Pay Lynxs, Inc. There, they led a team of software developers and implemented a software configuration management process and infrastructure.

Matthew continued their career at RGM Advisors, LLC as a System and Network Admin, where they managed and improved trading and research systems.

Next, they worked at D. E. Shaw Research as a Systems Engineer and later as the Manager of network, storage, and Linux systems infrastructure. Matthew led a team and collaborated with various teams to ensure infrastructure supported their requirements.

Most recently, Matthew joined PDT Partners as the Executive Director and Head of Core Engineering. Matthew is responsible for managing all the firm's Linux, storage, networking, HPC, datacenter, cloud infrastructure, windows, and support services globally. Matthew leads a team of engineers and emphasizes high performance and stable environments that meet business requirements.

Matthew Bohnsack has a strong educational background in the field of engineering. Matthew began their education at North Iowa Area Community College, where they earned an Associate of Science degree in Pre-Engineering from 1992 to 1994. Following this, they pursued their Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering at Iowa State University from 1994 to 1997. Continuing their academic journey, Bohnsack then attended The University of New Mexico from 2005 to 2011, where they obtained a Master of Science degree in Computer Engineering.
