Stevie Freeman-Montes

Stevie Freeman-Montes currently serves as the Director of Programming and Training at the Peace Corps since August 2022. Prior to this role, Stevie held various positions at the City of Sarasota from April 2015 to August 2022, including Governmental Relations Manager, Interim Economic Development Manager, and Sustainability Manager, overseeing legislative priorities, job creation, and sustainability initiatives. Early career experience includes serving as the Sustainability Coordinator for the City of Beaverton and as a Sustainability Project Specialist for Washington County, Oregon, where Stevie developed the first greenhouse gas inventory. Stevie's initial experience in international development was with the United States Peace Corps from September 2005 to August 2007 as a Community Development and Natural Resource Volunteer. Educational qualifications include a Master of Arts in Sustainable Development from the School for International Training and a Bachelor of Science in Zoology from Texas A&M University.
