Peace Over Violence
Emi Guzman currently serves as an MSW Intern at the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health and also works as a Day Center Coordinator at the Downtown Women's Center. In addition, Emi provides crisis intervention and advocacy as a Crisis Counselor-Advocate for Peace Over Violence, assisting survivors of sexual violence. Previous experience includes a role as a Research Associate at Parexel, where responsibilities included supporting clinical trials and managing research data. Emi has also held internships in UI/UX design, product design, and various brand ambassador roles. Educational credentials include a Master of Social Work from the University of Southern California and a B.A. in Communication Studies and Global Studies from UC Santa Barbara, complemented by certification as a Phlebotomy Technician.

Established in 1971 by pioneering feminist activists, Peace Over Violence is a sexual and domestic violence, intimate partner stalking, child abuse and youth violence prevention center headquartered in Los Angeles. POV is committed to social service, social change and social justice. POV’s innovative and comprehensive programs include Emergency, Intervention, Prevention, Education and Advocacy services and are offered in Los Angeles and the 22 cities within the West San Gabriel Valley. Our mission is building healthy relationships, families and communities free from sexual, domestic and interpersonal violence. Our services are offered in English, Spanish and American Sign Language.
