Matt Williams has had a diverse work experience in the medical field. Matt started their career as a Hospital Doctor in the NHS in 1999 and worked until 2004. Matt then worked as a Clinical Research Fellow at Cancer Research UK from 2004 to 2008. In 2008, they became an Honorary RA in the Computer Science Dept. at UCL. In 2010, they joined UCLH NHS Foundation Trust as a Clinical Oncology Registrar and worked there until 2013. In 2012, they took on roles as a Consultant Clinical Oncologist at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust and has been working there since then. In 2014, they became an Honorary Senior Research Fellow at Imperial College London. Matt'smost recent work experience is as a Medical Director at Pear Bio, starting in 2022.

Matt Williams has an extensive education history. Matt completed their Bachelor of Medical Science (BMedSci) degree with a specialization in Pharmacology with a 2:1 grade from the University of Birmingham in 1996. Matt then pursued a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) degree from the same institution, which they completed in 1999. In 2002, they attended the Royal College of Physicians to obtain an MRCP degree, although there is no information available regarding the field of study for this degree. Finally, from 2004 to 2008, Matt pursued a PhD in Computer Science from UCL (University College London).
