CIO at Pearson

Marykay Wells joined Pearson in 2014. She is responsible for leading the execution of the company’s corporate digital transformation strategy that is driving the shift from print to digital products. She leads a team of IT professionals worldwide, building state of the art global platforms and solutions to drive a step change in efficiency, simplicity and consistently great user and customer experiences. She employs a multi-faceted approach to leadership; simplifying the technology, speeding up delivery to market and providing a work environment that highlights both diversity and innovation.

Prior to joining Pearson, Marykay had CIO roles at Nortel, Tekelec (acquired by Oracle) and Extreme Networks. She has over 30 years of with proven success in strategic planning and execution of large, global technology transformations. Marykay builds high performing teams by establishing customer-first values and cultivating an environment of collaboration, integration, and innovation.

Marykay holds a B.S. in Computer Information Science from Clarkson University and is a member of the organising committee for the Accenture Women’s Summit, Salesforce Advisory Board, Google Leadership Advisory, and a member of the Gartner Research Board.
