Anthony Sabella has a diverse work experience. In 2010, they began working as a Bio-environmental Engineer SSgt for the United States Air Force Reserves. From 2013 to 2017, they worked as a Research Assistant at Southern Illinois University, where they aided in nano-particle treatment and bio-assay of crop plant species and analysis of data. Anthony also raised various crop plant species from seed in a controlled greenhouse setting and utilized atomic absorption spectroscopy, chlorophyll fluorescence, and gas exchange meters to monitor the physiological status of crop plants. From 2015 to 2017, they worked for Monsanto Company, where they held the roles of Biologist and Sample Preparation Technician. In the former role, they cared for and maintained transgenic plants in a controlled greenhouse environment and collected tissue samples while recording data and preserving sample integrity. In the latter role, they provided timely preparation of biological samples according to ISO and GLP requirements while ensuring adherence to all compliance guidelines. From 2017 to 2020, they worked as a Masters Student and Graduate Teaching and Laboratory Assistant at Oklahoma State University. Finally, from 2020 to 2022, they worked as a Post-master's student researcher at Los Alamos National Laboratory, where they studied how the drought response of maize is affected by changes in the soil microbiome and developed protocols to study epigenetic factors in plants and algae. Currently, they are working as a Research Associate at Pebble Labs Inc.

Anthony Sabella began their educational journey in 2009 when they attended Southwestern Illinois College and earned an Associate of Science (A.S.) in Biology, General. Anthony then transferred to Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Botany/Plant Biology in 2015. During this time, they also attended Community College of the Air Force and earned an Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) in Bio-environmental Engineering Technology in 2015. Finally, they attended Oklahoma State University and earned a Master of Science (M.S.) in Botany/Plant Biology in 2020.
