Marius George Linguraru

Marius George Linguraru has a long and impressive work experience. Marius George started their career in 2007 as an Associate Investigator and Staff Scientist at the National Institutes of Health. Marius George also served as an Expert Evaluator for the European Commission in 2007. In 2011, they became the Principal Investigator and Director of the Precision Medical Imaging Group at the Children's National Health System. In 2012, they were appointed as an Associate Professor of Radiology and Pediatrics at The George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences. In 2018, they became the Co-Founder and Chief Innovation Officer of PediaMetrix, a company that provides image processing and artificial intelligence solutions to detect early health risks in childhood. Marius George also became a Secondary Professor of Biomedical Engineering at The George Washington University - School of Engineering & Applied Science. In 2019, they joined the Board of Directors of SIPAIM Society, and in 2021 they joined the Board of Directors of MEDICAL IMAGE COMPUTING AND COMPUTER ASSISTED INTERVENTION SOC. Additionally, they have been a Member of the Technical Committee on Biomedical Imaging and Image Processing and Chair of the Technical Committee on Biomedical Imaging and Image Processing for the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society since 2007, and a Member of the Technical Directors Board Committee for the IEEE Signal Processing Society since 2018.

Marius George Linguraru has a comprehensive educational background. Marius George obtained their BSc in Computer Science from Lucian Blaga University of Sibiu between 1991 and 1996. Marius George then went on to earn an MA in British Cultural Studies and an MSc in Parallel and Distributed Processing Systems, both from Lucian Blaga University of Sibiu, between 1997 and 1998. Subsequently, they earned a DPhil (PhD) in Medical Imaging from the University of Oxford between 1999 and 2003. Finally, they completed a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Harvard University from 2004 to 2006.
