Rene Amaya

Rene Amaya, MD, CWSP is currently the Director of Pediatric Infectious Diseases and Pediatric Wound Care at Pediatrix Medical Group since October 2022. Previously, they founded Pediatric Infectious Disease Specialists of Houston, where they worked until October 2022.

Rene Amaya, MD, CWSP holds a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from UT Southwestern Medical Center. Additionally, they have completed a residency program in Pediatrics at Phoenix Childrens Hospital and specialized training in Pediatric Infectious Disease at Baylor College of Medicine.
