Rashmi Swarup

Rashmi Swarup is the Director of Education at Peel District School Board. Rashmi has held this position since March 2019.

Prior to their current role, Swarup served as Superintendent of Education at York Region District School Board from August 2011 to March 2019. During their time there, they oversaw the educational programs and policies for the board.

Before their role at York Region District School Board, Swarup was the Special Assistant to the Director at Toronto District School Board from January 2004 to December 2011. In this role, they provided support to the director and helped with the implementation of policies and programs.

Swarup began their career in education as a Curriculum Leader at Toronto District School Board in January 1998. Rashmi later became a Program Team Leader and Department Head before moving into their role as Special Assistant to the Director.

In March 2019, Swarup left their role at York Region District School Board to become the Vice President of Digital Learning and Education Partnerships at TVO. Rashmi held this position until August 2021 when they took their current role as Director of Education at Peel District School Board.
