Joanna Smith

Joanna Smith, CFA, is an experienced finance professional with a diverse background in trading and economics. Joanna began their career at the Greater London Authority as an Intern Economist from September 2011 to July 2012. In 2013, they joined OSTC Ltd. as a Graduate Trader, where they gained valuable experience in trading. Joanna then moved on to Peel Hunt in 2014, where they held multiple roles. Joanna started as a Market Maker from March 2014 to March 2015, before transitioning to the role of International Equity and ETF Trader from March 2015 to July 2023. Currently, Joanna is working at Peel Hunt as the Head of ETF Trading, a position they have held since June 2023. Their expertise includes trading in international equity markets, settlement options, and developing proprietary trading tools.

Joanna Smith, CFA, obtained their Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Economics from the University of Sussex in 2013. Prior to that, they attended Peter Symonds College from 2007 to 2009, where they studied Maths, Economics, and History. Joanna has also completed various certifications, including becoming a Chartered Financial Analyst Charterholder in 2019 and completing the CFA Level 1 and Level 2 exams in 2017 and 2018, respectively. In 2023, they participated in the ETF Ecosystem Unwrapped 2023 Day 2 event organized by ETF Stream.
