Dr. Taraka Ramji Moturu, Ph.D.

Dr. Taraka Ramji Moturu, Ph.D. has an extensive background in research and innovation. Dr. Taraka Ramji is currently the Co-Founder of Peelon, a biodegradable packaging solution that aims to reduce food waste and plastic pollution in the fresh produce supply chain. Prior to this, Dr. Moturu worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Université libre de Bruxelles. Dr. Taraka Ramji also played a key role as a Co-Founder of MicGene Lab. Additionally, Dr. Moturu served as the Vice Curator of Global Shapers Prague Hub. Dr. Taraka Ramji gained valuable experience as a Researcher PHD Student at CEITEC - Central European Institute of Technology, where they focused on the role of strigolactone hormone in plant developmental signaling and processes. Dr. Moturu completed a student internship at the University of East Anglia and held a position as a Lead Researcher at TRIMS Labs Pvt. Ltd. Dr. Taraka Ramji began their research career as a Junior Research Fellow at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Kolkata, and also completed a student internship at the Max Planck Institute for Chemical Ecology. Throughout their work experience, Dr. Moturu has developed expertise in areas such as genome-wide associated studies, next-generation sequencing analysis, and data visualization using R packages.

Dr. Taraka Ramji Moturu, Ph.D. obtained their Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) degree in Biotechnology from GITAM Deemed University, where they studied from 2007 to 2011.

Dr. Taraka Ramji then pursued a Master's Degree in Biological Sciences from the Indian Institute of Science Education & Research (IISER), Kolkata, completing their studies from 2011 to 2013.

Dr. Moturu continued their education at Masaryk University Brno, where they received their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Plant Biology. Dr. Taraka Ramji attended the university from 2015 to 2020.

In addition to their formal education, Dr. Moturu obtained several certifications to enhance their skills and knowledge. These certifications include the Responsible Leadership Programme from Accenture, obtained in April 2021, and various courses from LinkedIn such as "Telling Stories with Data," "Design Your First Infographic," "Chief Technology Officer Career Guide," "Business Building Strategies for Emerging Entrepreneurs," "Business Intelligence for Consultants," "Breaking Out of a Rut," "Business Development Foundations," "Economics for Everyone: Understanding a Recession," "Improving Your Listening Skills," and "Strategic Thinking," all obtained in 2020. Dr. Moturu also completed the "Consulting Approach to Problem Solving" course from Udemy in May 2020, as well as the "What is Data Science" course from Udemy in February 2020.
