Hu D. has a long and impressive work experience. Hu began their career in 2007 as a Research Assistant at Vanderbilt University, where they co-developed a parallel FSI solver for animal flight simulation. Hu also implemented the sharp interface immersed boundary method, two-way implicit coupling of flow-structure interaction, elastic membranous structures and multiple bodies, arbitrary actuation of wing motion, and nonlinear FEA structure solver. Hu D. also parallelized the flow solver using Aztec and domain decomposition. Additionally, they were a Teaching Assistant at Vanderbilt University. In 2013, they joined Pegasus Vertex, Inc., a drilling software company, as their CTO and R&D Engineer.
Hu D. received a BS in Thermal Science and Energy Engineering from the University of Science and Technology of China in 2007, and then went on to earn a PhD in Computational Fluid Dynamics from Vanderbilt University in 2012.
