Paul Loubser is currently a board member at Pegwin. Prior to this, they were a partner at CRG Medical, LLP from January 2000 to December 2003. CRG Medical, LLP was created after the publication of the Institute of Medicine Report, "To Err Is Human," which documented that as many as 98,000 lives were lost each year in the US due to preventable patient harm. The IOM recommended using the aviation model for reducing these losses by 50% within 5 years. The partnership created an Artificial Intelligence driven predictive modeling tool that could quantify the probability and degree of confidence that a change in a process or procedure would change the potential risk for patient harm towards achieving this patient safety goal.
From January 1990 to December 1999, Loubser was the manager of flight safety and security at ASI Group, A MEDEX Global Group Company. And prior to that, they served as a pilot officer and air safety investigator at IDF - Israel Defence Forces from January 1968 to December 1989.
Paul Loubser has a MA in Behavioral Science - Industrial/Organizational Psychology from the University of Houston-Clear Lake, a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Geological and Earth Sciences/Geosciences from Bar-Ilan University, and a certification from the Institute of Safety and Systems Management in the United States Air Force Flight Safety Officer Course from the University of Southern California. Paul also has a diploma in Educational Leadership and Administration, General from Machon L'Madrichei Chutz La'Aretz - Institute for Youth Leaders from Abroad, and a Cambridge School Certificate in Educational Leadership and Administration, General from Prince Edward Boys High School, Salisbury, Rhodesia.
