Director, People & Culture at Pela Case

Heather Stickle CPHR, SHRM-SCP has a comprehensive work experience spanning over two decades. Their most recent role is as the Director of People & Culture at Pela, a position they have held since 2021. Prior to this, they worked at Grant Thornton LLP (Canada) from 2017 to 2020, serving as the Manager of People and Culture in the Interior British Columbia Region. In this role, they acted as a culture coach and change agent, focusing on enhancing leadership qualities and fostering performance and cooperation within the business unit.

Before their time at Grant Thornton, Heather worked at the Hyatt Hotels Corporation. From 2014 to 2017, they were an Area Specialist in Human Resources for the Canadian division. Prior to that, they held various HR positions at Hyatt Regency, including Director of Human Resources from 2011 to 2017, Associate Director from 2008 to 2011, and HR Manager from 2007 to 2008. In these roles, they were responsible for workforce planning, talent management, HRIS administration, learning and development, safety and wellness programs, associate relations, total rewards, and colleague engagement.

Heather's early career includes a role as a Human Resources Coordinator at Hyatt Regency Calgary in 2007 and as a Front Office Manager at Delta Hotels from 1999 to 2007. Throughout their career, Heather has demonstrated a strong commitment to creating a positive work culture and supporting colleagues in achieving strategic goals.

Heather Stickle CPHR, SHRM-SCP has a Human Resources Management Diploma from the University of Calgary, which they obtained from 2004 to 2006. Prior to their higher education, Heather attended Bowness High School. In terms of certifications, they became a Chartered Professional Human Resources (CPHR) from CPHR BC & Yukon in June 2010. In May 2019, Heather obtained their SHRM certification from SHRM. Additionally, they obtained the Six Types of Working Genius Facilitator certification from The Six Types of Working Genius in February 2023. In 2014, they also became a Meyers-Briggs Certified Practitioner from Psychometrics Canada.
