Chris Funk has a strong and diverse work experience in the banking and public sectors. From 2002 to 2022, they served as the Executive Vice President, Commercial Banking at Hickory Point Bank & Trust, where they held various positions including Commercial Banking Division head, Senior Lender, and de facto Chief Credit Officer. Chris led a diverse team in multiple markets throughout Central Illinois and was responsible for sales leadership, credit risk management, credit administration, and regulatory compliance. In 2015, Chris was appointed as a City Council Member for the City of Decatur Illinois, where they balanced the budget and addressed critical deferred infrastructure funding. Chris also advocated for fiscal responsibility, long-term capital planning, and public pension reform. In 2022, they joined Beach Bank as the FWB/Okaloosa Market Executive & NWFL Senior Lender and later became the Chief Lending Officer at Pen Air Federal Credit Union.
Chris Funk completed their education in 2002 with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration - Marketing from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Chris later attended the ABA Stonier Graduate School of Banking from 2014 to 2016, earning a Stonier Diploma & Wharton Leadership Certificate in Banking and Financial Support Services.
