Jay Philoon

Jay Philoon is a seasoned software engineer with extensive experience in backend support for web applications, currently serving as a Senior Software Engineer at Penobscot Bay Media since June 2009. Philoon specializes in Grails, Groovy, and Java technologies, utilizing PostgreSQL databases with a combination of JSON and relational data. Previously, Philoon held the position of Director of Architecture at Fidelity Investments from 1997 to 2008 and worked as a Software Engineer at Fidelity Investments from 1985 to 1995. Additional experience includes roles at Fundtech, Logica North America, The Buschman Company, Compion Inc., and IBM Instruments. Philoon earned a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Maine and a Bachelor of Arts in Math-Physics from Colby College.
