Joel Habbershaw is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in commercial loan operations and legal compliance. Currently serving as a Commercial Loan Operation Specialist at PenFed Credit Union since July 2021, Joel has been instrumental in the post-acquisition integration of underperforming taxi medallion loans, improving operations, and mitigating risks. Previously, as a Commercial Loan Consultant for Beacon Hill, Joel performed similar roles focused on integrating loan portfolios into PenFed’s operations. Joel’s background also includes serving as a Commercial Loan Closing Paralegal at Newtek Business Services, overseeing complex loan transactions, and ensuring regulatory compliance. Earlier experience as a Legal Assistant involved auditing residential real estate foreclosure documents for major banking clients. Joel holds a Bachelor's Degree in Social Sciences from Dowling College and an Associate's Degree in Criminal Justice from Suffolk County Community College.
