Pilar del Barco

Pilar Del Barco has extensive work experience in human resources, with their most recent role being the Chief Human Resources Officer for Spain, Portugal, and Latam at Penguin Random House Grupo Editorial. Prior to that, they worked as a Senior Director of Human Resources at Bertelsmann SE & Co. KGaA from December 2014 to January 2022.

Before joining Bertelsmann, Pilar held the position of Human Resources Director at Circulo de Lectores from January 2009 to October 2014. Pilar also worked at sanofi-aventis from March 2002 to December 2008, where they held various HR roles including Recruitment & HR Talent Management and HR Business Partner Manager. Earlier in their career, they worked as the Recruitment & HR Talent Management Manager at Grupo Cortefiel from March 2000 to March 2002, and as the HR Development Manager at Caprabo from June 1998 to March 2000.

Pilar Del Barco pursued their education in a disciplined manner throughout their professional journey. In 1990, they completed their undergraduate studies at the Universitat de Barcelona, earning a degree in Psychology. Following this, in 2005, they enrolled in the IESE Business School, where they attended the Programa Desarrollo Directivo and obtained a PDD degree. Finally, in 2021, they further expanded their knowledge by completing a Mindset Digital program at the IESE Business School.
