Penguin Random House
Marco Jochum was appointed Executive Vice President and Director of Global Human Resources in September 2025. In this newly created role, he partners with Penguin Random House’s international teams to advance the company’s global talent strategy, foster a culture of belonging, and align talent initiatives across local, divisional, and corporate levels. Based in Munich, he also continues to serve as Senior Vice President of People & Culture for Penguin Random House Germany and as a member of the German Management Board.
With more than 25 years of HR experience, Marco draws on extensive expertise in strategic and operational HR, organizational development, and talent management. Since joining Penguin Random House Germany in 2021, he has established a People & Culture department, introduced flexible work guidelines, and championed initiatives to strengthen professional growth and inclusion.
Prior to Penguin Random House, Marco held senior HR leadership roles across multiple Bertelsmann divisions—including Arvato, Bertelsmann Investments, Bertelsmann Education Group, Audio Alliance, BMG, and the Bertelsmann Corporate Center—gaining international experience and a deep understanding of the company’s businesses and culture. He began his career at Commerzbank AG, where he spent over a decade specializing in talent management and organizational growth.
Marco holds a diploma (German equivalent to master’s degree) in social sciences from Mannheim University.
