Nicholas Woolsey

Nicholas Woolsey has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Nicholas started their career in 2011 as a Coordinator for International Relations in the Japan Exchange and Teaching Program. Nicholas was responsible for assisting in English classes for junior high school students, planning and teaching creative English classes for elementary school students, and writing a column on international culture in a town magazine.

In 2013, Woolsey worked as a Technical Recruiter at Eureka Co., LTD. Their responsibilities included producing training materials for a technical high school course, creating proposals to improve service quality, and implementing a hiring strategy targeting talented foreigners in Japan.

From 2014 to 2018, they served as a Technical Account Manager at Pacific Teck Advisors. The company focused on providing opportunities in the high-end enterprise computing and high-performance computing markets to clients in the APAC region.

In 2019, Woolsey joined Penguin Computing as the Head of Business Development - APAC. Nicholas held this role until 2020, where they were responsible for expanding business in the APAC region.

Currently, Woolsey is the Head of Business Development - Compute as-a-service at Penguin Solutions. In this role, they aim to deliver operational expense solutions with a private cloud-like experience to customers using AI and HPC technologies.

Nicholas Woolsey completed their education as follows:

- Nicholas received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music and International Studies from Willamette University, attending from 2005 to 2009.

- In 2007, they obtained a JSP Certificate in Japanese Studies from Tokyo International University during a short-term program.

- From 2009 to 2011, they pursued an MBA degree in Marketing and International Management at Willamette University.

- In 2010, they earned a Certificate in Online Marketing and Business Plan Writing from Copenhagen Business School.

- In August 2018, Nicholas Woolsey obtained the Japanese Language Proficiency Test Level N1 certification from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology.
