Rex Tanakit

Rex Tanakit has extensive work experience in the technology industry. Rex is currently serving as the Sr. Director of Solutions Architect at Penguin Computing, where they lead the US Solutions Architect team and focuses on HPC, AI/ML, and high-performance storage systems. Prior to that, Rex worked at WekaIO as the Sr. Director of Customer Success, overseeing technical support, benchmarking, performance engineering, and technical marketing. Rex also has experience at Cray Inc. as the Director of WW Systems Engineering, where their team was transferred from Seagate and they expanded their roles to cover Cray's Computing and Analytics business units. Before that, Rex held the role of Sr. Director at Seagate Technology, specializing in performance engineering, benchmarking, and cloud storage solutions. Rex has also held various positions at Panasas, Penguin Computing/Scyld Software, SGI, Silicon Graphics SGI, and AMT, where they gained valuable experience in systems engineering, technical services, and applications engineering.

Rex Tanakit has a strong educational background in the field of Chemical Engineering. Rex completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from UC San Diego between the years 1980 and 1984. Pursuing further academic growth, Rex enrolled at UCLA and obtained their Master of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from 1984 to 1986.
