Gillian Oates

Gillian Oates is a highly experienced pharmacist currently serving as a Senior Pharmacist in Education at Peninsula Health since February 2017, where responsibilities include coordinating pharmacy intern education and pharmacy resident training, as well as leading antimicrobial stewardship initiatives. Prior experience includes significant roles at Health Service Executive from 2007 to 2016, where contributions included leading antimicrobial stewardship programs, providing critical care pharmacy, and developing medication safety guidelines. Gillian Oates also established an oncology and haematology clinical pharmacy service at Sligo Regional Hospital and worked as a community pharmacist. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from the University of Brighton, a Master of Science in Clinical Pharmacy from Queen's University Belfast, and a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacology from University College Dublin.
