Nickie Smith

Nickie Smith, SHRM-CP, pHCLE, currently serves as the Vice President of Human Resources at PENN Entertainment, Inc., overseeing HR operations for Argosy Casino Hotel and Spa and Hollywood Casino and Speedway since January 2023. As Co-Owner and Executive Consultant at ThriveHRK12 since July 2021, Nickie collaborates with K12 schools in Missouri to provide comprehensive HR solutions. Previously, Nickie held the position of Chief Human Resources Officer at Columbia Public Schools, managing HR strategy and advising on legal issues from December 2012 to June 2021. Additional experience includes serving as Personnel Officer at the Missouri Department of Social Services and Personnel Analyst I/II at the Missouri Department of Revenue. Nickie holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration/Marketing from William Woods University and is pursuing a Master's degree in Human Resources Management at Villanova School of Business.
