Dan Hayes

Dan Hayes is a distinguished professional in the field of biomedical engineering, currently serving as Co-Founder at Illuminate Therapeutics since 2023. Hayes holds multiple roles at Penn State University, including Department Head of Biomedical Engineering, Director of the Center of Excellence in Industrial Biotechnology, and Professor of Biomedical Engineering. With extensive experience as a Consultant at Hayes Consulting since 2008, Hayes specializes in agricultural, textiles, medical devices, and drug delivery, exhibiting skills in Material Science, Tissue Engineering, and Research and Development. Previously, Hayes was an Associate and Assistant Professor at Louisiana State University from 2008 to 2016, focusing on tissue engineering, drug delivery, and diagnostics. Hayes also served as Co-founder, President, and CEO of NanoHorizons from 2002 to 2009. Educational credentials include a PhD in Engineering Science and Mechanics from Penn State University, completed in 2004.
