Jim Leous

Jim Leous has extensive experience in the field of information technology and education, currently serving as a Manager/Research Programmer at The Pennsylvania State University since July 1991, where responsibilities include researching emerging technologies, providing architectural guidance, and offering IT leadership. In addition, Jim Leous co-chairs the Information Technology Services version of IT Architects in Academia and holds the position of Adjunct Instructor in MSIS, teaching System and Network Administration. Previous roles also include Systems Engineer II, where Jim managed software licensing and led training programs in UNIX System Administration, and Research Associate at the Penn State Earth System Science Center. Alongside academic pursuits, Jim Leous served as a Director on the School Board for the State College Area School District from December 2009 to December 2023. Jim Leous holds a Master of Science degree in Astronomy and Astrophysics from Penn State University and a Bachelor of Science in Physics from the University of Notre Dame.
