Kent Vrana currently serves as the Elliot S. Vesell Professor of Pharmacology and Chair Emeritus at Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine since July 2024. Since January 2004, Kent Vrana has been the Director of the Pennsylvania-Designated Medical Marijuana Academic Clinical Research Center at Penn State and held the position of Elliot Vesell Professor and Chair of Pharmacology. From July 2005 to August 2020, Kent Vrana co-directed Problem-Based Learning at Penn State University College of Medicine. Previously, Kent Vrana held various academic roles, including Assist/Assoc/Full Professor and Director of Graduate Studies at Wake Forest University and Assistant Professor and Director of Graduate Studies at West Virginia University Health Sciences Center. Kent Vrana's education includes a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from Louisiana State University, a Postdoctoral Fellowship in Molecular Biology and Embryology from the Carnegie Institution of Washington, and a B.S. in Biochemistry from the University of Iowa.
