Tom Lauerman is an Associate Professor of Art at Penn State University, where the focus is on Sculpture, Ceramics, Interdisciplinary Digital Studio, and Foundations, with an emphasis on Digital Fabrication, 3D Printing, and Open Source Hardware since August 2011. Previously, Lauerman served as a Visiting Lecturer in Ceramics and Sculpture at SMU Meadows School of Art from 2009 to May 2011 and held the position of Artist, Faculty, and Studio Manager at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago from August 2006 to August 2009, specializing in Ceramics and Designed Objects while managing a large ceramics production studio. Lauerman holds a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Art from Cranbrook Academy of Art (2000-2002) and a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Art from Southern Methodist University.
