Bill Kiger has a diverse work experience spanning over several decades. Bill started their career in the US Navy as an Electronics Technician Communications Po 3rd Class from November 1967 to May 1968. After that, they worked as an Administrative Assistant at Bell of Pennsylvania from January 1971 to March 1978. From April 1978 to January 1979, they served as an Operations Manager at On-Line Systems, Inc. In 1979, they joined United Information Services, Inc. as the Manager of One Call Operations until 1984. From 1984 to 1987, they worked as a Vice President at One Call Systems, Inc. Bill Kiger then went on to become the President & CEO at Pennsylvania One Call System, Inc. from December 1974 until their most recent position. Additionally, they served as a Member of the Pennsylvania Geospatial Board starting in January 2015. Bill is currently involved with the PA Public Utility Commission DPC as part of the PUC Act 50 Damage Prevention Committee since April 2018.
Bill Kiger attended Serra Catholic from 1961 to 1965, where they earned their high school diploma with a focus on college preparation. From 1965 to 1967, they studied liberal arts at Point Park University, although they did not earn a degree at that time. Bill then attended Penn Technical Institute from 1969 to 1971, where they obtained an Associates in Applied Electronics. From 1974 to 1977, Bill pursued liberal arts at the University of Pittsburgh but did not receive a degree during this period. Finally, they attended the Community College of Allegheny County from 1976 to 1979, where they studied liberal arts and business and obtained a degree in Liberal Arts.
