Ellen Kiger began their work experience in 1974 at Robbins Answering Service as a Switchboard Operator and later became the Supervisor of one call account. In 1978, they joined On-Line Systems/United Information Services as a Call Center Supervisor. In 1984, they became the Call Center Manager at One Call Systems Inc. In 1987, they joined Pennsylvania One Call System, Inc. as the Director of Administration before becoming the Director of Operations. Eventually, they rose to the position of Senior Director and served in that role until 2011. In the same year, they became the Vice President & Chief Operating Officer of Pennsylvania One Call System.
Ellen Kiger attended the Community College of Allegheny County from 1989 to 1990, where they focused on studying accounting. Prior to that, from 1975 to 1977, they attended Robert Morris University, where they pursued a field of study in business. No specific degree was mentioned for either educational experience.
